The Faculty of Nursing at Cairo University organized an orientation program for internship students, aiming to familiarize them with the training system and evaluation process. Attendance at this program is a prerequisite for entering the internship year, which aims to:
- Link theoretical studies with practical application.
- Develop clinical skills and critical thinking.
- Prepare students to work independently within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Qualify graduates for their future professional careers with high competence.
In line with the Faculty of Nursing’s commitment to optimally preparing its students for the internship year, the orientation sessions for the academic year 2025/2026 were held.
At the beginning of the sessions, Professor Dr. Fatma Abed, the Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the students with inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of internship students embodying the ethics of the nursing profession, including honesty and integrity in dealing with patients. She explained that the internship is the true bridge between theoretical study and practical application. She offered valuable advice, reflecting her continuous dedication to preparing a generation of nurses capable of assuming professional and humanitarian responsibility. She concluded her remarks by thanking the faculty members who coordinated the program, wishing the students a successful year filled with valuable experiences and skills. 🔹 Professor Dr. Eman Abdel Aleem, Head of the Nursing Administration Department, delivered a comprehensive address, warmly welcoming the students. She emphasized that the internship period is the cornerstone in shaping the personality of a successful nurse, stressing the importance of commitment and discipline as key elements for excellence in professional life.
🔹 Dr. Shaimaa Ali, the overall coordinator of the internship program, then presented a detailed overview of the internship regulations, clarifying the rights and responsibilities of the students during this phase. Her words reflected her keenness to ensure that students are fully aware of all aspects of their training experience.
💡 Dr. Dalia Safi El Din, Assistant Deputy Director General for Nursing and Training at Cairo University Hospitals, delivered two insightful lectures, rich in both knowledge and practical experience.
🩺 Dr. Maysa Hosny Ahmed, Director of the Mandatory Internship Program at the Ministry of Health and Population, explained the mandatory internship system in the Republic of Egypt. She presented a clear and comprehensive overview, helping students understand the system’s mechanisms, which had a positive impact on their confidence regarding their future careers.
📚 Throughout the program, the academic departments conducted a quick review of the academic content covered during the previous years of study.
